DRUM- NEW MUSIC VIDEO
Great post! I love the variety of content you chose to include, mixing words with pictures, links, and videos! Your post also sparked many questions for me including: is her music popular in other countries or mainly just Israel? Is it common for Israeli singers to switch between English and Hebrew in their songs? Does her music represent any aspects of Israeli culture or history?
ReplyDeleteI love how you took the topic of music in Israel and chose something so current and relatable to todays youth. Most people forget that music is a global industry and even though American produced music is popular around the world it's not the only music people listen too. I think it's great that you chose to write on a pop star who has music produced in the pop style but has touches of traditional Israeli flare and that she sings in Hebrew. It's eye opening for the American's to hear songs that sound like the ones they hear on the radio but are sung in a different language making them realize the diversity that exists in the world.
ReplyDeleteThe use of an example of modern music, as opposed to traditional music found in the country, is a great way to start out your blog! Israeli music is not a genre of music that I have ever had the chance of listening to, so this post will allow me to explore a new type of music - and for that I say thank you! Whilst this post mainly discusses a particular Israeli artist, I like how you also mentioned her occasional use of popular English (probably American ?) phrases. Even such a simple thing like that reminds me of the history and politics between the two countries, and, to a certain extent, America's history as an imperial power. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an interesting topic to write about. I really enjoyed hearing about how she uses the traditional music in a modern way. I thought it was interesting how you talked about her involvement in the MTV shows and awards that I have heard about even though I have not heard about this specific artist. I love the aesthetic of your entire page! It's really cute and makes the content even more interesting because it is so easy to read and look at! Putting the music video into the actually post was such a good idea and adding links to her music. It adds even more entertainment and is a fun extension to the article that you wrote. It shows how much effort you put into in and I loved it!
